The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project in Indonesia, built by a Chinese company, is one of the most important infrastructure construction projects in Indonesia and has attracted much attention since its announcement. The Yawan high-speed rail project is a major overseas project personally promoted by the heads of state of China, India and Nepal and involving enterprises in market-oriented operations. It is an important gain for the successful docking of China's “Belt and Road” initiative and Indonesia's “Global Ocean fulcrum” concept, and it is also a window for ”China's High-speed Rail" to go abroad to show Chinese standards.

 The Yawan high-speed rail has a total length of 150 kilometers, connecting Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and Bandung, the fourth largest city, with a maximum design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is planned to be completed and opened to traffic in three years. At that time, the journey time from Jakarta to Bandung will be shortened from more than 3 hours to 40 minutes. Yawan High-speed rail is the first high-speed rail project in the world to be led by the government and jointly built and managed by enterprises of the two countries. It is also the first high-speed railway in China to go global in all directions from technical standards, survey and design, engineering construction, equipment manufacturing, material supply, to operation and management, talent training, and comprehensive development along the route.The first project has an important demonstration effect on promoting China's railways, especially high-speed rail, to go global.
